This time it is beyond comprehension.
It rained cats and dogs in Bangalore today. I was on leave from office for the past two days nursing a slight flu and some heavy cold.
I was on my way to office today when I got totally drenched in the sudden downpour. My mobile got totally soaked and though I made a couple of calls once I was at office, a little later has totally conked out.
I can switch it on - after which it cannot recognize any key presses. The 'listener' for the keystrokes has probably been shorted by the water that might have got in. A few enthusiastic guys at office got me into opening up the mobile and taking it apart. There wasn't any water inside (I had held it under the hand dryer for quite some time already!) and we put it back together. We restored it to previous state - where it allows me to press a key to switch it ON, but after which it won't recognize any further key presses.
Quite frustrating because I can see every call I recieve, every message I recieve (I only know who it is from), but can't respond to any of them.
Best part - at the moment, I am connected using my mobile from home. Which means everything is normal, except for my key presses getting identified. Hopefully I will be able to restore it back with a visit to the service center. (Yes, we long realized that self-servicing LG mobiles isn't quite our cup of tea!)
I reach home quite late - after finding reasonably good dinner in the rain - travelling distances in autos - and come here to see that the rains have somehow put cable TV out of operation too.
Totally disconnected world. And it is indeed a relief to be able to still go online and blog this entry.
Its times like these when you realize how much of a slave we have become to technology and to being *online*.
